"According to the National Post, a Toronto man who happens to be a big LEGO fan, was working in a downtown office on Friday when the replica gun made from LEGO that he’d ordered from online retailer BrickGun arrived. He assembled the model and later closed his office door for a conference call and that’s when someone who could see in his window from a neighboring building called police to report lone man sitting in an office with a gun.

The SWAT team was dispatched and the incident ended with the man cuffed against a wall while six officers armed with assault rifles and shotguns secured the LEGO.
After determining that the “gun” was in fact made of LEGO, the cops left with no arrest being made."

LEGO gun from http://brickgun.com/#

i laughed when i read this, and also the gun is pretty cool looking. no functional purpose whatsoever, but LEGO and it's counterparts always think of something to satisfy any group of people. :)

here it is-

they also make it in glocks-

http://brickgun.com/Standard/BrickGun_Standard.html

and several others.
cool training thing to get the kids or grandkids.
better than some stupid ray gun blaster thing anyways.
I just thought it was pretty cool.

i read even further onto the site, and apparently they work like real firearms but they do not fire any projectiles (duh, the thing would explode in your hands if you tried)

"The BrickGun standard-size pistol captures the style and function of a real pistol to a tee. Pull the slide back and the internal striker is cocked. Pull the trigger and the striker falls with a sharp "click". The slide can also be locked open, just like a real pistol when the magazine has been emptied. Flip the lock down with your thumb and the slide slams shut, ready to "fire" again.
The BrickGun Standard is our first model to incorporate a shell ejector port. The port is closed when the slide is forward (and the breech is locked), but when you pull the slide back, the port opens and you can see down into the breech, again just like the real thing!
Like all the BrickGun models, the Standard is 1:1 scale, fitting in your hand just like an actual pistol. It incorporates many of the design details of a real pistol so that it looks and feels as authentic as we believe you can get with Lego."

"ATTENTION: BrickGun models DO NOT FIRE PROJECTILES and are not actual working weapons, they are Lego models meant only to display the form and mechanical functions of real guns.
BrickGun Rubber Band kits DO FIRE RUBBER BANDS and caution must be exercised at all times while building, viewing and playing with the model. Never point BrickGun Rubber Band models at yourself, other people or pets. Extra care should be exercised when loading rubber bands into the models.
By building (either partially or completely) any BrickGun model (regular or Rubber Band) you release BrickGun and all of its employees from liability for any injury or damages done to persons or property due to its use or misuse."

How did a guy from the next building see it through his window? Building that close...? Spotting scope peeping tom...? What would of happened if SWAT broke in an he happened to have it in his hand an he jumped an it pointed at them......?......he would of been dead....?......this is WHY an WHAT happens when are RIGHTS to bear arms are takin away, an they are turned into..."against the law to have a gun..."...what was it that guy said long time ago......"The very atmosphere of firearms ANYWHERE an EVERYWHERE restrains evil interference." George Washington

Ohhhh...its Canada....never mind...ha

You'd have to be pretty dumb to point a lego gun at someone who surprised you, first of all it's not gonna look good on you since it is a realistic-looking gun, and second, if it is someone you'd need to defend against, a pile of legos isn't gonna defend you very well.

But otherwise, those guns are pretty sweet, it'd be neat if they could actual 'shoot' small lego bullets...

^^^ ya it would be stupid....but I said..."..he jumped an IT pointed
at them.." not that he willfully pointed it at them...I have heard of cases on the news where some kid got reported with a toy gun that accidently got pointed at an officer who then shot the kid....

Stupid meaning who? The guy with the legos, the guy in the neighboring office, or the SWAT team?
The guy in the neighboring office.

Hmmm...not really sure I would call that guy stupid. I mean...If I were working in an office building and someone saw a guy waving a gun around in an office, I would hope he called someone, and the police are probably the best choice.

I mean, I'd rather not be killed because someone didn't call, it turned out it was a real gun, and the guy decided to take out his coworkers.

IF (and it is a big if) there was anyone who was stupid, I'd say the guy in the office putting a LEGO kit together on company time and a LEGO kit of a firearm at that. Now, I said IF because we have no idea if he did this on his break or what the circumstances were. I do wonder why he had the kit sent to his office...
