I got nothing except a guy followed two teenage girls and is now dead, shot by their father.

+1!

You know what's true about pissing contests? The contestants never end up covering themselves with glory.

Especially when they're pissin' in the wind!

Seriously folks...If I was reading THR for the first time and this was the first thread I'd read - it would also be the last.

The postings here are great fuel for the anti-2A's, and would push any fence-sitters over to their side. Is this the kind of face we want to put on the pro-2A movement?

I really think you mods are asleep at the wheel on this one.

It is not that bikers will damage a car just because they are getting run off the road. THink about the car commercials you see advertising how sound proof the car is. I am thinking of the one with the cannons and the badger. Think about how loud some people play their stereos. Add to the above stupid people on cell phones and you have people with NO idea of their surroundings. It is not like in a car where you beep the horn and maybe get a dent when some idiot slides into your lane. THe only thing we have is our feet if we have nowhere else to go. Yeah I have kicked in a door on a car. I could not speed up because of a car. The lane to the left was occupied and I had no other option. She was real suprised and called 911. The trooper gave her a ticket for hitting me. She was half way in my lane and she said so. She also said cars ALWAYS have the right of way and bikes should not be allowed on the road.B---H, BMW, and cell phone BAD mojo. I do not always defend bikers. Some drivers of crotch rockets get what they deserve when the flip their bikes doing wheelies or stoppies. Or when they hit the back of a truck at over 100 mph. But they do these thing s to themselves. What is a inconvience to someone in a car or truck is a matter of life and limb to a biker. We get real defensive when we get hit, run off the road, cut off,or tailgated.

Can somebody please tell WTH we are putting up with this endless thread about bike/car confrontations on a forum supposedly devoted to firearms?! I realize I could just pick up my marbles and go home - but people who are truly curious and interested in firearms and related issues could stumble on to this thread and conclude we are all a bunch of total morons.

For me, I can think of ways where this shooting could be justified such as if the biker was trying to run him down or attack him in some way. However, the article didn't indicate any facts to suspect that (other than a couple of ride-bys) so I can't just assume it.

I agree that he is not likely justified. I would hate to start accusing him of murder without more information though. This is likely one of those cases where none of us will ever know all the facts.

If this is the worst thread on THR you can find, then we are doing pretty good.

I have seen worse on other sites and I have seen worse back when it was "Legal and Political". It was getting really nuts then. Lots and lots of people fanning the flames and playing devil's advocate just to provoke responses.

"Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" comes to mind reading this thread. Or maybe, "As entertaining and morally uplifting as a train wreck"

I gave up riding donor cycles because I had kids, and my fears (my wife calls it good judgement) about the outcomes of collisions involving me, my bike and the-

car
truck
phone pole
building
pavement

Being "right" is one thing. Being "right" and paralyzed, maimed, mangled, folded, stapled, mutilated, brain dead, or the New Jersey State Vegetable is quite another.

Things I have learned in a car and on a bike- drive smart, drive defensively, drive safely, be aware, be polite, and don't tailgate (even if you can stop faster than a car, it won't make your little guy any bigger). If I do those things, I avoid 99.44% of the problems/stupidity that is waiting for me in the driving universe.

Above all, be nice. Cars, bikes, and guns all require maturity and a clue:)
