Different variation on caz223's thread.

If you could have as many calibers as you want, but only one gun in each caliber, which gun would you pick to represent? Not necessarily, best value, or anything like that.

Think in .xx caliber, you have to have Y gun.

.22 - Ruger MkII
.32 - Walther PPK (german)
.357 Mag - S&W 686
9MM - Browning Hi Power or SiG P22x series (this would be a tough choice)
10MM - Bren Ten
.44Mag - S&W M29
.45ACP - 1911 Colt 5" Govt
.45LC - Colt SAA

.22 LR -- Browning Buckmark or S&W Model 18

.32 ACP -- Probably the CZ 70 that I have.

.32 Long -- S&W Regulation Police

.380 -- ???

9mm -- HK P7M8, or my Kahr K9

.38 Spl. -- S&W 042

.357 Mag. -- S&W Model 19

10mm -- Tough call. Probably a Glock for longevity.

.41 Mag. -- S&W Model 57 or 58

.44 Spl. -- S&W Model 24

.45 ACP -- Either a 1911, a Sig 220, or an S&W Model 25

.357 Mag - S&W 686
9MM - CZ75B SA (Or Combat Commander in 38 Super)
10MM - Hrmm... I'd really like a G29, but probably a Delta
.44Mag - Super Blackhawk
.45ACP - 1911 Colt 5" Govt
.45LC - Don't know... 44 Mag serves fine.

As alternative to the 9mm/38 Super... A 9x23 STI 1911 built as a limited gun... I'd love to have some of those 29 round mags! :p

*FootNote- chambering is actually for the .357 magnum!

I believe that's all I would need; however if I could
include a "just for fun gun" it would be a Series 70
Colt Gold Cup National Match .45 ACP!:uhoh:

.22 - Browning Buckmark
.32 - CZ83
.380 - Russian Mak
9mm - Browning Hi-Power
.40 - CZ75 SA
10mm - EAA Witness
.45 - Any decent 1911 with 100% reliability

I didn't want to soil the results of my thread by responding, but see no problem in responding to yours.

.22 kadet kit, CZ. Possibly baikal target model, or smith 41.
9mm almost any sig/hk with aftermarket barrel. Heard star and steyr are good stock. And, of course, the P7. Maybe the beretta L series.
10mm Have a few examples, glock being the standout. My razorback has better sights.
.41 magnum, in SA-ruger, in DA-smith.
.45 acp It's just too easy to answer 1911. I'd think SIG 220 sport, CZ97, or some H&K model like my USP compact.
.40 Gonna hafta say SIG. Pick a model, they're all good. I like my 2340.
357SIG See above.
.357 Gotta say smith. I'll bet my Dan Wesson 715 would do better with an action job, and a 6" tube. Easily arranged.
.44 Ruger bisley series, good guns, in their own right. A 5" stainless model, or a Gary Reeder special.
.45 colt Ruger bird'shead vaquero. Shoot one, and you'll know why.

10mm: Colt Delta Elite. :D

Everything else...

9x19mm: SIG P210 or a custom BHP
.44 Magnum: S&W 29
.357 Magnum: Colt Python
.45 ACP: pre-Series 70 Gold Cup National Match

-.22lr: I'm still trying to decide what will be my first .22lr pistol, that probably would be the one I'd go w/ if only one
-.22mag: Taurus 941UL, 8 shot lightweight aluminum alloy snub
-.32H&R Mag: Probably Taurus 731 (not sure if UL or CH)
-.32acp: probably a Kel-Tec, maybe the NAA Guardian
-.380acp: I love my Bersa but if I get to a carry state, and if only one I'd have to seriously look at the Kel-Tec and the NAA Guardian (I'd probably go w/ the Guardian)
-9mm: BHP or CZ 75B (I love my CZ 75B, better trigger than my buddy's 85Combat, highly accurate, reliable and fun)
-40S&W: no real loves in this caliber, but I'd go w/ the Kahr MK40 or K40 since I couldn't have the MK9 or K9
-.45acp: a 1911 (if only one, probably an alloy framed 4" or 5" Kimber or SA)
-38spl: Taurus 85UL or S&W 60LS (before they were chambered in .357mag). Then again if I had the .32mag and .22mag snubs maybe I'd go w/ a S&W M10 (3" or 4").
-.357mag: 4" S&W M19 or 3" S&W 65LS
-.44spl: either a S&W 296 or a Taurus 445
-.45lc: a quality SAA clone or Vaquero (can't afford the real thing)
-.44mag: I'd probably go w/ a 6" or 8" ported 629 or used 29 (w/ porting or I'd have it done aftermarket)

.22LR- TCC, scoped and 10" barrel
.22 Hornet- see the above
.32 H&R Magnum- 4" 6 shot blued S&W
.38- S&W Centennial
.357- 3.5" S&W M27
.357 Sig- Glock, 4" or longer
.44 Special- 4" S&W M24
.44 Magnum- 4" S&W M29
9x19- Hi Power MKIII
9x23- a good 1911, accurized by a good gunsmith
.40S&W- Hi Power MKIII
10mm- G20
.45ACP- G30
.45 Long Colt- 4" S&W M25
.454 Casull- Ummm, a Rossi M92 lever (grins)

That's for now anyway, subject to change. I'll pick up a few Contender barrels for some other calibers as well :)...

.22 Beretta 87T
.32 P-32
9mm S&W 5926
