One Gun per Caliber: What Are They?

.22lr: S&W Model 41
.380ACP: Walther PPK
9X19: Browning High Power
.357Mag: Colt Python or Coonan Classic
.44Mag: S&W Model 29
.45ACP: Custom 1911

I would definitely not be happy about losing all others but I can say that list would make me smile but I'd long for a SA or two and a few more revolvers.

22lr Ruger single six
.357 Coonan
.41mag S&W 57
.44 mag Ruger SBH 10in barrel
10mm Colt Delta Elite
.45acp Sig 220

.22LR---Browning Buckmark, without a doubt;
.38/.357---S&W model 66, without question;
9mm---CZ75B, did you have to ask?;
.44 magnum---S&W Model 29, go ahead, make my day;
.45 ACP---S&W PD1911, of course.

I think I would spend all of my money on trying to overturn those rules, ideally with a side of (with all due process) making the remainder of the life of the person who proposed them as unpleasant as legally possible.

Then again I never cared for ninja vs caveman arguments. What clarity or insight does it bring? How do I apply the conclusions to real life? I guess I'm just not bored enough. Plus I can't afford that many guns anyway.

Calibers to choose from:

.22 = Ruger single six

.32 = Colt 1903

.380 = walther PPK

9x19 mm = Browning a High a Power

.38 Special = S&W 442

.357 Magnum = S&W 66

.40 = Browning High Power

10mm = S&W 1006

.44 Magnum = S&W 29

.45 acp = NIGHTHAWK FALCON

.45 Colt = COLT SAA

That's not the scenario

Sooo, you're not bored enough to a select 6, but you are bored enough to make a superfluous comment in a thread you think is unworthy of making a comment in....

I regret to inform the following posters that due to a failure to read the OP, you will have zero firearms.

Wow, some are easy but some are very hard!
I will give it a try but I reserve the right to edit my choices later on... lol
)

Here would be the list they know I have

Unfortunately, I only have one

Calibers to choose from:

I assume this means per person ?

Myself and my wife would have different sets- but here is mine:

RSBH- 44mag
Colt Trooper .357
Glock 23 Gen 4 .40
Kimber Pro- Carry 45acp
SW 500 S/W
SW 460 S/W
Glock gen4 9x19

Unless confiscation is in order, the ones I have would be too late. :D Sorry they aren't on your list.

Also,
Reloading not allowed.
Falls right under the confiscation bit. Sorry, thatn's a little far fetched for me :D

Wife would be :

Kimber Royal II - 45 ACP
Sig P239 - 357 sig
insert 4 more here.... Dunno

We are not there yet, but some countries already ban reloading, limit the number of guns that can be owned and how much ammo can be bought per year and stored.

The main idea here is to make you pick what 6 cartridges that would get you through your shooting activities and what gun you'd choose for a given cartridge.

For me, it forces me to be very objective about my choices. And, if I pick a gun that's "perfect," but I don't own it.....then 2 questions arise:

1) if I don't own it, how do I know it's the perfect one gun for the cartridge

2) why don't I own it?

I'll play:

.22 -- Ruger 22/45 w/ threaded barrel
9x19 mm -- Glock 19
.38 Special -- Ruger SP101
.357 Magnum -- Colt Python
.45 acp -- a 1911, maybe the Colt CQBP

Yeah, I know it's only 5. I've never shot any of the other listed calibers enough to know what I'd want.

.22: S&W 617. The gun I probably should have bought instead of the SP101-22 but I balked at the price tag.

.32: don't have one now and in such a limited environment would have no use for one. Not selected.

.380: marginal cartridge, OK for pocket carry but there are better options. Not selected.

9x19 mm: how to choose just one? I might as well pick a name out of a hat because there are so many good ones. H&K USP9.

.38 Special: Ruger LCR. I carry the .357 version but in this game I have to reserve that for...

.357 Magnum: Ruger GP100. The all-purpose revolver.

.40: with only so many choices available, I want the flexibility offered by the...

10mm: load it mild or load it wild, but put it in a Glock 20.

.41 Magnum: I saw one in a store, which is the extent of my experience with it.

.44 Special: I don't think I've even seen one of these.

.44 Magnum: I shot one once. That was enough.

.45 acp: Has to be the Colt 1911.

.45 Colt: You may have guessed by now that I'm not really a big-bore revolver guy.

So to recap - .22LR S&W 617, .38 Special Ruger LCR, .357 Magnum Ruger GP100, 9mm H&K USP9, 10mm Glock 20, and .45 ACP Colt 1911.

.22 - S&W Model 63
9 mm - Ruger SR9
.38 Special - S&W Pre-10
.357 Mag - Colt Python
.44 Mag - S&W Model 29
.45 ACP - S&W 1911

Oh shucks..

Good thing my list is already in my safe...:neener:

S&W Model 28 4 inch
Ruger Blackhawk 5 1/2 45 Colt with 45 ACP cylinder

Assuming "spare parts" means extra mags and since I can't have duplicate in caliber I'll have to duplicate platform.

Grouped by need:

EDC pocket carry
.22lr Ruger LCR
.38spl Ruger LCR

Sidearm
.380acp Browning BDA
.45acp S&W 4566

Hard to pick six calibers let alone one gun per.

From what I currently have these would be the six:

.22 - Sig Trailside

9x19 mm - Sig M11-A1

.38 Special - S&W442

.357 Magnum - S&W 686P

.45 acp - Dan Wesson V-Bob

.45 Colt - Ruger Bisley

Glad this is just a hypothetical scenario.
