What you do is, you require a statement of potency and dosage, for ANY drug.
Entirely correct. I was assuming that potency upper and lower limits would be in the standards. For pot, that would include THC limits.

Somewhat ironically, I read a newspaper article this morning about the dutch DoJ complaining that dutchgrown pot is too potent. It seems dutch pot has a THC level of about twice that of imported stuff. The government is apparently studying possible ways to regulate THC levels in pot on the market. I don't smoke (anything) or use drugs because that's my choice. But I'm not in favor of stopping other people using, so long as (feeding) their habit doesn't become a major social or criminal problem.

Well we sell booze in varying "potencies" all the time. It's just MARKED.

Why not have a "ratings system" for weed? Base it on the number of pictures of Cheech Marin lines up on the side..."whoa man, this is TRIPLE CHEECH, it's gooooooood $&it doood!".

:p

But seriously, that's what "proof" is in alky.
