Ive got a Marlin 336 30-30 rifle, and I want to put one of the other on my front sight. Red or Green truglo or other brand. any advice on which color draws your attendtion when looking down range. also my concern any brands to avoid, because I got a hood over my dove tail sight and would like to keep it that way. thanks Chris

I use white fingernail polish. Just touch the brush to your front sight bead and it will transfer a perfect white coating onto your bead.

Use white Testers model enamel, or White appliance touch-up paint on the sight you have.

White is most easily seen in dim light.
That is why the old time elephant hunters used Ivory or Gold bead bead front sights.

Red is black in the dark.
Green isn't a whole lot better.
White is always white though.

The "light pipe" fiber optic glow sights need the hood cut away to allow light to hit them or they don't work so hot.
