marlin availability

Im in the market for a 22 mag rifle and I want a tube fed bolt action. The one im really wanting is the marlin XT-22MTW (70851) which is a tube fed bolt action with a walnut stock. problem is nobody can get one. was wondering if anyone knew what the deal is?
Is there just a temporary gun shortage? seems strange to have such a hard time getting a gun like that. :banghead:

Have you thought about going to a Marlin dealer and having one ordered?

I tried to order one through a gun dealer. I might try again. I remember hearing marlin was bought by Remington but didn't know they shut down a plant... that was 2 years ago though. surely they will be available sometime soon?

That's old news, and AFAIK all the Marlin production was moved to Remington factories when the old Marlin plant was closed. I know there was a gap in lever-action production when the new plants were having QA problems, but I never heard about that effecting the Marlin bolt action offerings.
