Thanks for the complements on the pic guys. I think I just got lucky on that pic. It was a great day hunting big desert Jacks. The Marlin Mountie is my all time favorite gun to shoot.

Well, I do not have a Marlin lever at this time, but the next levergun I want to get is a Marlin Cowboy in 45-70.

But here is one of my favorite Leverguns.;)

hi everyone, this rifle is on my wishlist and I would like to know a few things.

what kind of scope would one put on this? 2x7 or 3x9 ?Thanks

scope

Hey yong,
I have mine scoped with a leupold 2.5 scout scope and it is mounted in scout scope configruation. It works GREAT.
But it depends on what you are hunting for.

FltoAK05: That's the first time I've ever seen a tactical lever action before. But now that I have it's going to be the only thing I can think about for the next couple of years.

Help

 :banghead: I am having problems with posting pics. I have taken some pics of my 336 and I have them on my hard drive ready to go but when I hit the "manage attachments" button nothing happens. How do you post pics on the thread????

I have to admit not on your life!!! I made the mistake of selling my first marlin levergun about 13 years ago and kicked myself eversince. It took me until this past winter to finally replace it and make it my own special gun.
If you are interested I do know Ramline does make camo stocks for leverguns in synthetic.
I was going that route until I found this stock.
Talk to you later

hog00010.jpg

This is my Marlin 30-30 with a Bushnell Banner set to 3x, and hand loaded 170 gr Hornady RN.
I've dropped 2 hogs with head shots this year, Bith were taken at roughly 50 yards.

36rc

I recently inherited my Dad's Marlin 36RC 30-30 with a Weaver K4.

I'll post a pic one of these days. It's in TN and I am in FL but next week that will flip flop.

Anything unique about a roughly 1947 version RC?
