Yesterday I had just returned from the range and was cleaning my G19 when a friend came by the house. He said that he had never held a Glock before (he has a revolver) and would like to hold it. So I locked back the slide and handed it to him..suddenly the guy lurched at me and knock the gun out of my hand. I was like *** man, what was that all about!!.. he said he had always wanted to see how fast he could react to a man pushing a real gun at him and he knew I would not go along with it if he told me. So I said but I handed a gun to you not pushed one at you, to which he replied that it didn't matter, he just wanted to test his speed.
So I picked up the gun and lo and behold the Arotek rear sight has shifted and the entire right side is dented. I am now really mad and he apologises and says he will buy me back one. Now this morning when I pick up the gun I see that the front sight, an Arotek fiber-optic is twisted and the rod is broken.. I also notice a binding on the trigger when pulled and so I have decided to strip the gun this evening when I return from work, I do not know if because the slide was locked back the gun was more susceptible to damage..man I am going to kick his b*** when I see him..
Lesson #1 learnt: anyone wants to see my gun go to a gunshop and hopefully they might have one like it in stock and hopefully they might allow you to hold it.
Lesson #2 learnt: Practice gun safety always and if you are handing your weapon to someone, ensure also that they understand the dos and dont of your weapon.. (i.e. should you ever decide to hand your weapon to someone, even a police officer).
<thanks for allowing me to get this off my chest I am so mad> mad
