Mass Killer's Guns ID'd

The knee-jerk public reaction to incidents like this always seems to be to look for further legislative solutions. That is, more restrictions on guns, more restrictions on the "mentally ill," etc., etc. We need to face the fact that we've just about reached the limit on legislative solutions. There's no conceivable further restriction -- short of an unenforceble complete ban on guns -- that would have made any difference in this case.

The grief-stricken father is indeed tragic. But his emotions were speaking, not the thinking part of his brain. I don't blame him, but I do blame those who are exploiting his grief for their own pre-determined purposes.

Why are the three he killed with a gun bigger news than the three he killed with a knife?

While this event is tragic it is not, at this point, on topic for THR. There is a lot of speculation going on right now and we simply don't do that. Once we have more facts or someone comes out with a proposed law we can revist this, but speculations about what may or may not happen do us no good.
