Mauser .22 ES340 and ES350 barrel crowns question

My limited exposure to Mauser .22 ES340 and ES350 barrel crowns indicate that they were left in the white. Does anyone has any information on this?

I looked at my Mausers and don't have a definite answer for you. I am sure mine have not been refinished but the muzzles do not look white or blued, sort of in between but not as dark as the rest of the barrel. Even on my pristine ES350, the muzzle is grey. Probably it was white to start with, 70+ years ago.

yes, I agree that mine is sort of between blued and in the white.

Interesting that these are not fully blued.
