Mayor Daley points gun at reporter.

Second City Cop has this to say about Daley's bizarre outburst:

http://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/

Leaving aside the fact that he stopped making sense by the fourth line, did he just threaten to stick a rifle up a reporter's ass? That's Aggravated Assault. Tossing in the "in a public building" subsection, that's another aggravating factor. You know, kind of like the ASA tossed in "public place of amusement" to jack up Abbate's charges?

At the very least, Shortshanks ought to be in for a 72-hour evaluation.

But even supporters of tough gun regulations—myself included—have to admit that it's not clear how much they reduce violence.

"I know it doesn't work, but we can't stop now."

The reporter should have said that if people had conceled carry pistols, they could stop the threat from a politician with an illegal gun. Daily is in idiot. Pointing a gun at someone is a good way to get a very unwanted response!

Is it possible this guy is scared of what the supreme court has in store for chicago?
Terrified. It's costing him his sanity to think that someohne could possibly tell HIM, The Daley, what he MUST do in HIS city.

I really dont understand the comments about putting "one of these up your ..." and a "round up your ...". Why up your colon? Does he have to take it to that level? No class..............

In Illinois there are two sets of laws. One of them, the law by which most of live, applies everywhere in the state "except in cities of more than one million population." Of course, there is only one such city in Illinois. The big names associated with Illinois are all tied to that city, and none of them are likely to be found at the local shooting range. (My quote is from memory and may be slightly off, but it is real, taken from Illinois statutes.)

What a pathetic piece of slime.

The really sad and sickening thing is that scumbag is the leader of one of America's largest cities.

Think outside the box

Bus illeagles, including Cartel members, from AZ to Chicago, the city ruled by Progressive Politicians, see how they handle the problem, without guns.

3845-

Having read more of the statues than I care to admit, the actual figure is 500,000. But the result is the same and in substance you are completely correct.

As I told a friend, a lot of us Illinoisans who are west of Rt 47 or south of I-80 would like to see the city or even Crook County secede and start their own state. However, that would probably make the rest of the state poorer than some areas of Mississippi (no offense to Mississippi; but the standard of living here is probably higher).

My only beef is that the criminal mayor influences EVERYTHING in this damn state and I don;t get to vote on him or any of his theiving cronies (Cullerton, Madigan, et al).

My post from another thread...

Daley is an ELECTED official. Eventually the folks in IL WILL get fed up and vote him out.

Ummmmm, today would be a good time to start the movement for those in IL.

They might, if they actually had free and fair elections there, or if the voting dead didn't always vote for Daley...

+1 whoever said the FOID card thing.

When I go to a gun show OUTSIDE of Chicago, I have to present a FOID card to even pick up a gun. If Daily is in fact, not a registered FOID card holder, he is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and shall be fined no less than $1000, According to the State police.

Daley and his ilk are always going to say and think whatever the money tells them to. As far as voting him out, he has the support of some groups with corrupt leadership that will keep the votes coming his way.

Also doesn't hurt when you have phony and paid for votes coming your way.

Good ol' Chicago Gangster humor.

"You are going to see things my way or I am going to stick this rifle with bayonet up your ___ and fire off a round."
Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle.

Threats veiled in humor from corrupt men, got to love the Chicago way.

His tactic was certainly effective for his target audience already spooked by guns. To make them even more afraid of guns, like the one in his hands, by making them feel vulnerable.
Add a touch of emotion and fear to their next anti-gun story.
They became uneasy, were stunned, and could do nothing but shift around uncomfortably as disarmed sheep faced with a gunman, until the laughter.
King Daley told an inappropriate joke. That's the cue, everyone laugh in the land of the King. You don't want him angry with you if you value future success in his kingdom.

In IL, is a crime to point a gun at someone with out cause?

Yes, but not for the monarchs--err, politicians.

Daley is an ELECTED official. Eventually the folks in IL WILL get fed up and vote him out.

They are, but the leaders like him or the distractions he provides. So in he stays, despite the peasants' opinions. The law requires their pitchforks be blunted, and their torches are on a won't-issue permit.

Edit: edited by self for political ranting, before the mods had to deal with it.

TERM LIMITS! This just reinforces the need for term limits. When I moved to Chicago 20 years ago, Daley was OK. He accomplished some great things. He's gotten way too wacky over the past 10 years.

Chicago Tribune
During the news conference, Daley reacted with the help of a prop when a reporter suggested the city's handgun ban has been ineffective, given the number of shootings that still occur in Chicago.

"It's been very effective," Daley said, picking up a gun from the dozens displayed on a nearby table. "If I put this up your butt, you'll find out how effective it is. Let me put a round up your, you know."

They had video of the event on Fox News yesterday. The mainstream media who sneer at "Faux News" will whitewash their antigun hero acting psycho.

So that guy is completely, 100% bat**** insane.

Not that I needed another reason to keep away from chicago.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

To paraphrase George Orwell, the rifle on the cottager's mantel is a symbol of freedom: it is our duty to see that it stays there.
