I figure with all the stuff going on regarding mag capacities it's a good idea to get some more as I only have the two that came in the box.

So, Mec Gar mags good to go? Actually, has there ever been any known issues with certain Mec Gar mags not specifically the Taurus 92?

MecGar makes some of the most reliable magazines in the world and produces the OEM mags for many major pistol manufacturers.

Any MecGar mags for SIG, CZ, Beretta, Taurus should be fine. I've never, ever heard of any "known issues" or any issues with this company's product -- SIG aficionados consider MecGar mags the gold standard.

I would opine similarly to old dog and IMO mec gar mags will likely be flawless for the PT92. However IME Mec gars for the .40 version, the PT100/101 will function and insert properly as long as I don’t load them to full capacity. If I do, the bodies swell and I can’t get them inserted into either of my guns. It’s the only issue I’ve ever had with mec gar mags for any gun. Usually they’re the gold standard.

A poster on another forum described making magazines as a combination of 'art and science', and that MecGar has it figured out better than virtually anyone.
Aftermarket mags are generally to be avoided, with the exception of MecGars...which often are OEM.

The original mags may have been MecGar. That's been the case with several of my Taurus pistols.

Mecgars are great. And if Beretta 92 mags are cheaper then consider those since they're interchangeable.

I have a very early Taurus PT92, from what i researched circa 1985 that I received with an original mag. I bought 4 extra mags, 2 factory taurus and 2 mecgar. The 2 mecgar function 100%, the same as the rest of the mags.

Mec Gar are the only “aftermarket” magazines I trust for most of my autos.

Stay safe.
