There is quite a bit of emotion around the world about the U.S. and North Korea's claimed test launch. According to the Associated Press:

"TAIPEI, Taiwan - Many Asian nations would cheer if the Americans shot down a long-range missile tested by North Korea, but a failure would raise unsettling questions for allies that rely on the U.S. military umbrella.
The response to North Korea is being watched by U.S. allies as a barometer of how committed Washington is to protecting them."

Then it goes on to say that a lot of Asian countries would be please to watch North Korea's missile be shot down. It would be good for our relations with Japan (my own thoughts: is it really ethical to attack another country to make us look better to another country?). It would be good for Taiwan because they're afraid of China and are relying on U.S. support if they were to be invaded. However, the Associated Press says that China would be against us striking NK because:

"Yang said China also wouldn’t want to see U.S. forces try to down the missile. 'The bottom line for China is that they don’t want any escalation of tension in the region,' he said.’"

The article also says that it may not be the best for our relationship with South Korea.

The Associated press then brings up America's CIA:

"He said that while it would be gratifying for the Americans to knock down the missile, they might be better off letting the North Koreans launch it.
'They’ll learn a lot about the state of North Korean technology,' White said. 'A lot of my friends in the CIA are saying: ’No, no, no. Let it fly.”’

How does everyone feel about letting North Korea test launch for our own military strategic purposes? There's a lot about their military technology that we don't know about, and if we allow them to test fly their missile (as long as that's what really happens and it doesn't come towards us of course!), we may be better prepared if we do have to go to war with them. I mean, do you really think that they’re going to attack us right now? We allowed India (their personal nuclear bomb) and various other countries to test their weapons (which made us really nervous), and they didn't use them on us when they tested them and now everything’s alright. We don't know as much about North Korea's technology as we would like. What does everyone else think about these CIA members' view?

Steveno,

We have a new, improved missile defence system (now with more bang and brighter colors!!!), that was just activated [coincidentally enough] three weeks ago.

I have a difficult time just hitting the IPSC targets at three yards. I'm not betting much money on one missile flying at mach 7 hitting another missile flying at mach 7 that was launched 7,000 miles away.

Funny, I watch the news everyday in the UK and despite hearing about Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran endlessly, I havn't heard of this at all. NK has been on the news in the past couple of years, but not recently.
