Fox news reporting shots fired on an American Airlines flight 924. Plane is currently on the ground in Miami International Airport. It was flying from Columbia to Orlando.

No more info. as of yet, details are sketchy. They are saying it may have been an air marshal.

MIAMI - Shots were fired on board an American Airlines flight that had landed at Miami International Airport, according to broadcast reports.

At least one person was wounded, the reports said. The plane had just arrived from Colombia and was headed to Orlando.

Airport and Miami-Dade County police officials said they had no immediate comment.

SWAT is moving in.

A federal air marshall fired the shots because a passenger did something threatening. The passenger has been wounded but not killed. I see jets landing and taking off from the airport live, so apparently whatever threat there was has been contained.

Demanding that 2nd bag of peanuts is sometimes fatal!
:D

I hope this incident is not terrorist related!

extra ice and peanuts? Nah, I think he was headed to the bathroom......wouldn't releasing bodily gas in such a small area be considered threatening? loll:D

what kinda calibers do air marshalls carry? my apologies if it's been discussed before, but there's just so much overpenetration possible in the confines of a plane.

Doesn't look like that big of a deal frankly. The live shot on CNN shows jets arriving and departing right next to the jet in question. No bomb squad, just what looks like some feds and local LEO's moving in and out. In some tape from right after it landed nobody looks too stressed out. One is leaning on the side of the plane chatting with two others at the back door of the jet. If this is a terrorist threat, they're not taking it too seriously. Now they're walking away with what looks like an empty stretcher.

Miami - An air marshal fired a gun aboard an American Airlines plane, which is now on the ground at Miami International Airport. That's according to the Federal Air Marshal Service and Miami-Dade County Police.

CNN quotes an official as saying a air marshal fired a gun after a passenger did something that was considered threatening, and that the passenger was wounded.

MSNBC says the shooting took place on the jet bridge, between the plane and the terminal.

Police say it happened while the place was on the runway.

The plane is now at a terminal gate.

Wonder if it was an Air Marshal, or if someone smuggled a firearm aboard.

Apparently the individual claimed to have been a bombardier during the war

Maybe he had a dangerous Marlboro Light on the plane and attempted to light it? Heavens!

Somebody get a lawyer on a phone!

What gets me is that this proves that marshals do their job. Good for the marshal, if the guy said he had a bomb and then started acting threateningly.

But you KNOW some blissninny is going to sue the airline/county/etc/etc for "emotional trauma" because OMG they SAW A GUN being used...to protect them.
