Midway Load Map Data

While examining the data listed in the Midway Load Map for 9mm Para, it was noted that the amounts of WW 231 listed for various weight projectiles is somewhat less that listed in other sources, particularly the data listed on the Hodgdons web-site. (Now contains WW data)

Any thoughts???:banghead:

It always pays to go the safe way. You can always increase the loads to your satisfaction. Variations in load data is not uncommon in different manuals.

I've found that the Midway LoadMap Series is 9MM, 45ACP, 357 Mag, and 44 Mag to be very useful to compare data from other sources. The only complaint I've had with the LoadMap is that they often tested some bullets at maximum cartridge length rather than lengths used in factory loaded rounds. I have found that their use of Alliant Unique in 9mm to be very close to actual velocities that I've tested with 124 grain bullets.
I would consider the LoadMap warning to be careful when loading into the yellow or red zones. I've gotten good results with all 4 calibers using or comparing data from the LoadMap and loading at the top of the green area and sometimes into the yellow zone.

For further clarification,

The Midway Load Map data lists powder charges and pressures for each of the projectiles that they sell by specific manufacturer along with COL and attendant pressures in PSI. The curious thing is that the charge weights are lower and the pressures higher than in other sources using the same projectiles at the same or close COL. An example is the various Sierra projectiles listed compared to the Sierra handbook data, particularly with WW231.

Those differences are very large, in some cases .8 grain, the 115 JHP is listed at MAX. 4.3, IIRC, at 35k PSI.
