Short poll on who your preferred supplier is for gun cleaning kits, solvents/lubricants and general firearm accessories.

Brownells, Midway or other.

It would be greatly appreciated by me, and I hope that others would find this info useful too, to rate them on speed of shipping, reasonable shipping charges, and lack of mistakes/mixups on items shipped.

Lastly, as already mentioned in another thread, do they keep your personal info private, or have you found either of them, or both, to sell your private info?

Both are excellent in filling orders correctly and quickly. I have not seen any evidence that either has sold my info to marketers.

If I'm ordering reloading equipment along with my supplies, I buy from Midway. If I need tools, Brownells.

I use Midway for general shooting supplies, including on occasion, cast bullets.

I just bought a Hunter holster for my Model 29 from them.

Brownell's is the better place for SPECIALIZED parts and gunsmithing tools.

Agree w above...poll requires a choice of "either/both" depending upon availability. Brownell's is usually a slightly higher price on common items but they offer the specialized tools and small parts that Midway doesn't yet, altho they are expanging their selection (1911, AR-15 parts for example).

Both are very good. My only gripe with Brownells is their "search" function on the website. It can't find diddly squat. You better have a catalog.

I prefer Midway for most (but not all) things. Midway's website is lightyears better than Brownell's.

Brownell's for parts & tools. There is NO Company that will give you any faster service, or help if you need it.

Natchez Shooters Supply for ammo & reloading supplies I can't find locally.

Optics Planet for glass.

I stopped using Midway for anything when they went ballistic on minimum orders & shipping several years ago.
Prior to that, Midway & Brownell's were all I used.

Now, it seems to me both Midways prices & shipping charges are higher then a lot of other places.

I order about equally from both. I do order more reloading supplies from Midway and gun parts from Brownells as this is how they skew in terms of availabilty. But overall I spend way more than I should at both.

Both, plus others.

Midway is better for some stuff, but Brownell's is better for tools, and the things Midway doesn't carry.

Graf for brass, if Black Hills doesn't carry it, but you've got to be licensed to deal with Black Hills.

Although I've found Midway doesn't always have the best price, if they have the item you're looking for on sale, save your time looking around and buy it then and there.

Shipping charges on a single items at Midway often seem high, but then they only increase in small increments as you add multiple items to your order.

I Voted Other. Mostly due to opinions already stated. Both have strong points and weaknesses based on Inventory provided. Both have shown excellent customer service and expedience processing orders.
BTW I also use Numerich and have had no problems with them.

Brownell's (wish they'd update their search engine and/or site)

Grab some lube before you see what shipping costs on ANY bulk amount of ammo from Midway!!

I order from both but Midway seems to have more of what I'm looking for and/or there prices are usually slightly less than Brownells. They do have a few things Midways doesn't carry, though (and vice versa).

I do not do business with Midway USA - they refused to reestablish my Dealer's Account because I do not have the word "gun" in my business name (neither do they, by the way). Also, their lack of customer service would have turned me off, anyways.

Brownell's is great! They do not hassle you, and they have actually had every item I've ordered from them in-stock when I ordered it.
Brownell's does offer a discount if you are in the gun industry, regardless of whether or not you have the word "gun" in your business name.

Brownell's.
Midway kind of ticked me off. I ordered a holster from them, which their website said, would fit my pistol. Paid for the holster S&H and the $4 dealer minimum sur-charge. Holster didn't fit fit. I returned it on my dime, and was credited the cost of the holster only! So even though they said it would fit, it cost me about $10 to find out it didn't. Not a big deal, just honked me off.

Thanks all for taking the time to respond. I hope that others have found this info as helpful as I have.

Sorry to hear about your hassles with Midway Sir Aardvark. It sure seems like a silly reason to me.

I used to buy most of my stuff at B&B before they went out of business, and then I sold my guns, both because I had young kids in the house (no room or money for a decent safe) and because I needed the money for them.

Right now there just aren't too many decent gun shops here in Los Angeles (this is the Left Koast you know), and none of them carry a large selection of supplies and accessories, at least none that I know of. So it's good to know that both Brownells and Midway are recommended.

My experiences with Midway have been good: no complaints. I prefer Brownells, though, because of its customer service. Brownells return policy is almost unbelievable: it accepts a return for a full refund at any time and don't want an explanation.

Beethoven,

Check out Ade's Gun Shop in the City of Orange, in Orange County, just next door to L.A.

Ade's Gun Shop
225 S Tustin St, Orange, CA 92866
714 744-3373

The only way I found to get guns cheaper was when I had my own FFL.

Ade does not have a big selection, but he will get anything you want.
His focus is on firearms, not so much the accessories.
