Midway USA - Deal on Aimpoint

I despise camo guns and accessories but it does seem to be an exceptional deal. NAPA Low Gloss Engine Paint is your friend. ;)

P.S.: I don't work for NAPA, (just like paint that sticks). :)

Maverick thanks for the tip on the Napa low gloss engine paint.
NP, the wheel paint might be equally good (or better), but I haven't used any due to the slight sheen (the engine paint is uber matte).

:)

I went ahead and picked one up last night. Found a MidwayUSA promo code and saved an extra $20 on my order. For $215 shipped, it's not a bad deal on an Aimpoint product. :)

I don't know about the camo finish on it, though. It'll probably look strange on my flattop LMT. Maybe I'll just paint it black or FDE..

I went with this one because I do not plan on using it for long range shooting. And because it was $149 cheaper. I can live with the 4 MOA dot at this price..

This may have already expired, but I'll post it anyways... ;)

I ordered one just now. The promo code worked it saved me 20 bucks, thanks.

I'll post here when it arrives, should be around the 23rd.

Thanks Schuey2002 for the promo code, it worked!
Also thanks for the coating ideas, a trip to O'Reillys is next for a Christmas vacation project.
I've been on the fence but Frankl03 pushed me off it.
Wishing everyone a great Christmas, hope you all have a good one!

Mine just showed up and I am tickled pink. This thing is awesome! Tank-like would be a better description.

And for anyone who says that the 9000SC is a "lesser Aimpoint", I call bullcrap on them. The specs for this are the exact same as the specs for the CompC3. Same ACET technology. Same battery life (50K hours on setting 7 of 10). Same water resistance. Same "max temperature range." Same 10 position power switch. Same construction ("Extruded, high strength aluminum, anodized"). And all the same accessories fit; flip up covers/Kill Flash etc. Same exterior dimensions, front lens diameter, body size, etc. (save for the extension). The only thing different is the weight of the extension on the back; and that is only 3/10ths of an ounce!

This was a not only a deal, it was a STEAL OF A DEAL!! :D

ETA: (I am willing to bet the rubber body cover would fit, as well. You would just have to stretch it to get it over the extension on the back. I am ordering one and giving it a try..)

Also, I have heard people say that you MUST use 2 mounting rings with this sight.

Again, I would tend to disagree. I would contend that a single beefy 30MM body mount forward of the body will be perfectly fine. Two Burris XTR's, or LaRue two-ring mounts, would be overkill to the max. One is all you need.

This Aimpoint is no cheap Chinese-like product. This RDS is build like a tank! That extension sticking out the back does NOT hold any electronics. They are all in the main body. It's just an extension of aluminum with an added lens to help keep the goop out. ;)

I bought a pair of 30MM Burris Signature Zee rings for mine, but I fully expect that to be overkill.

I don't think there is anything wrong with using two rings.

I just think if you wanted to use a beefy single mount with it, placed in front of the body, that would be fine too.. ;)

Schuey, thank you for the promo codes, I didn't order the sight but got a bunch of reloading stuff last night and saved $30...so the code still worked.

:)
