Got an email notification yesterday that Midway had Federal pistol primers in stock. Called as soon as I noticed it ~ about 1 hour after receiving it. Guy said they had none. He said he had had six prior callers as well.

What is our man Larry up to?

Computer error or did they sell out in one hour?

RMD

Keep in mind that there are hundreds of thousands of that one email going out to everyone who asked to be reminded when they are in stock.

On a highly sought after product like primer, they'll be gone in minutes.

Last month, I happend to be online when some primers got posted, I asked for 5 boxes and by the time I got to the purchase screen, it showed 1 box, then before I could put in my credit card info, it was all gone.

I got an e-mail reminder from Midway about two weeks ago for Winchester Large Rifle primers. I was sitting at the computer when the e-mail arrived. I only needed 1000 LR, and not wanting to pay hazmat on 1000 primers, I checked to see if any small pistol were available. They showed Winchester Small Pistol Magnum in stock. I ordered 4k SPM and 1k LR. I put in my info, processed the order, got the confirmation, and then went back to check stock status. Winchester LR and SPM were both out of stock.

I got my order about 4 days later, but it looks like I made it just under the wire.

Yeah, they sell out that fast.

Okay this may help some of you , I know it did me :D I set up a new e-mail account and used it for the in stock notices only and it goes to my cell phone , we were at the range yesterday when the notice came, bingo hit speed dial and now me and my shooting buddy have primers for the summer.

they were hit hard the gal doing my order had the computer go down twice

I was sitting at my computer when I got the email for large and small Federal primers. I called withing seconds and was told "sold out".

Oh well, like stated above the notice os probally going to ALOT of reloaders.

yep, been there, had it happen to me. just the times we are in. next year, everything will be back to normal, or as close to normal as it will get. because everyone will have spent out all of their credit cards, and have hundreds of thousands of rounds stashed in every nook and cranny in their homes.

Yeah same thing happened to me yesterday with my Midway "order."

I WAS lucky enough to find 1.7k SP magnum primers at Gouger Mt however.

I have a standing backorder at Cabela's for primers. We'll see how that goes....

How long have you been waiting on Cabelas? I just ordered some Winchester primers today and their website said it was a 1 to 2 week backorder. I got frustrated making the drive to our local stores only to see empty shelves, so I decided to eat the hazardous shipping fee. The way it was going, I would have easily spent $20 on gas just making futile trips to the stores.
