Well guys, I guess the folks at the Million Mom March Meetup board aren't too keen on the 1st amendment either.
This is certainly not meant to start any cross board flame war, just an interesting observation on our control minded counterparts. Besides there are only three people ont heir whole board.
As a preface, I usually lurk there a couple of times a week to keep track of the crap they post over there and have posted there maybe 5 or 6 times, always politely, when I see a blatant lie, like someone quoting Bellisles as if he were gospel.
I never use personal attacks or ad hominems.
I never use objectionable language (Art's Grammaw's rules are transferable I believe).
On top of that, there are only four or five posters on the whole national board! Two or three of us seem to be "gunnies" and one is Sarah herself (Motherbear) I believe.
The Meetup people recently closed down all the local MMM boards due to lack of interest. No meetings, no posters etc. You'd think they would want all the posters they could get. Oh well. Not exactly a great loss in terms of my information gathering.
Here's the e-mail I got today, after a post I made yesterday questioning the real value of the .50 caliber bans proposed:
"We have received several complaints about your recent posts on the Million
Moms Meetup Message Board. After investigating these claims, we've found
that your posts are contrary to the spirit of the Million Moms Meetup,
which is a violation of our Terms of Service (http://www.meetup.com/terms/ ). As such, we ask that you refrain from posting on Million Moms Meetup Message Boards in the future. You might want to
consider posting to a Message Board more suited to your beliefs, such as:
http://nra.meetup.com
Any further posts to Million Moms Message Boards will result in
termination of your account.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter."
Sincerely,
Janine Sinder

FYI, I did respond and politely asked; "what had I posted, beyond a differing point of view politely expressed, to annoy the other 2 posters that made them hit the alert button".
I'm not holding my breath for a response.
