mini 30 mags

I own a mini 30 7.62x39 round. Iam looking for a good 20 round mag that will work with this rifle. With the recent sales of ruger made 223 . 20 round mags ,i contacted ruger and ask them if they would be making them also for the 7.62 there reply was its not in the making right now. So far the only aftermarket mag that works decent is a 10 round pro mag.

Where do you even get the good 10 round pro mags? Which are bad? I just have one 5 round Ruger Mag...

I live about 15 miles from knob creek gun range in ky,were they have the machine gun shoot twice a year. In there gun store he carries a pretty good selection of ruger, and pro mag. I could try a pro mag in a 20 round they are made of metal as far as i know, my 10 round mag is.i was hoping some one has tried a 20 round mag of any brand, and has had good luck with. Check out Midway USA, they got em. just bought a couple myself, a 20 & a 30rd. mag. so far no problem.

Hey Tex I heard that it was only the 10 round ProMags that worked properly. Some people on PerfectUnion BBS warn about problems with any other capacity ProMag. I hope yours work out. Keep us posted.

My rifle came with a 30 round "USA" brand magazine that I haven't tried.

So then... Do I want the 10 round metal ProMags if I'm going to stake my life on something other than the factory 5 round mag? Will that keep me clear of trouble or are there different versions I need to avoid?
