Mini-30?

I live in NY and to make an AR legal you basically have to make it a mini, at which point they become about the same price so for me a mini isn't a bad rifle, especially in stainless steel (don't habento worry about rust) and the fact that it doesn't look like an "assault rifle" to civilians.

The 583 series of Mini's is finally showing the potential of what they are capable of. Too bad it took Ruger so long to figure it out. The damage has been done.

Is there anything Ruger has changed with the 583 series specifically? I know the 580s as a whole have the thicker barrels.
