Ya for sure. I've been using everythhing I can find online. The online reloading info from alliant is what I've been using for a while now, it's also more up to date cause it doesn't have to be re-published every time.

I'll pick up the hornady or speer manual when I get some money for sure.

I would venture to guess your primers are not all the way in. Nearly all mis-fires are caused by a shallow seating. If not the primer seating being the problem, there is a rare possibility that the bullet is up against the lands enough that the necessary energy needed is being absorbed at that end? I've never personally experienced this, but I have heard of it causing this problem on one occasion. Take a look at the bullets to see if they are contacting the lands.

rcmodel, you don't think the small base resizing die is necessary for M1A and Garand? I've been using the Lee full-length sizing die for the AR with great results, and I'm about to buy dies for the M1A and Garand. The reason I ask is because the Sierra article, Zediker, and the forum's own Slamfire recommend small base sizing for those calibers. I'm not trying to be a wise guy or anything.....I just don't want to buy RCBS if Lee will do. Thanks.

I can say that I've not used small base dies for the two Garands I've owned and handloaded for. I feel just fine with a FL die for the one M1 I currently have, and I'll probably keep that die for future M1s too. I see no reason to change now, but of course I will if there is a need. But I haven't had that need to yet.
