Missile skip off water

Another thing that made me think it was a skip instead of exhaust gasses was the way the water went up to the sides instead of to the rear.

It's one of those situations whether I'm going to believe my lyin' eyes or something else. :D

The link?

Searching Fox News didn't kick it up, how about it, anybody still have a link?

I saw the video on Fox, and it appeared to skip. I thought it was a TOW.

BTW, I saw a video some years ago of an Israeli Cobra shoot a TOW at a Syrian (?) tank that disappeared behind a hill just after launch. The TOW gunner was so good he flew the missile around the bend and killed the tank while it was completely masked by the terrain. Amazing shot :D

I saw that clip too.
I was wondering if anyone else caught the skip shot.
I was thinking that was a miracle shot--lucky gunner.
Sure would like to see a link and view that again.

Saw it several times. I'm still split in my feelings about it. Was the shooter a klutz that needed a couple extra trips to the range or was he bored and trying to make it interesting?

There's no telling who owns the video. Since it was presumably a Brit missile, Sky News may have taped it then shared it with Fox News. Anybody checked the Sky News site? (Is there a Sky News site?)

Thanks, Preacherman.

I checked out all the polls they have on that site. They're well done, and I'm sure glad I live here instead of there. :D

Right after he saw it, one high-ranking analyst (ex US General ?) on FOX news said something to the effect that the missile caught the tank on a "ricochet".

The distance looked to be about 400-500 meters to me also.

Found a video link on Sky News about the Brits taking Basra on the 6th that I thought might have the clip, but I couldn't get it to play. :(

Thanks again, Preacherman! You are Da Man!

Unfortunately, I still can't get it to play, even with the latest Windows Media Player.

But I've got the link, and a solution will be forthcoming, I'm sure! :D

Thanks Preacherman, but I can't see it either. It isn't loading up. Says it is an invalid or corrupt file. :banghead:

I figured it out!!!

Save the file where you can find it on your hard drive. Then change the file name extension. It should be .asx not .asf. Do that and it will work fine. Good luck.

It sure is hard to tell, that was pretty cool nonetheless.

Yeah, was very cool, show offs is right! I guess nows a good time for the Brits to try out some of their toys too :D Good to see they've done such a good job in Basra!

Got it to play!

At Preacherman's suggestion, I reinstalled WMP. First I had to uninstall it to get the installation to work. Now it plays just by clicking the link.

It was a skip....
