So I'm going to hang a scope on my 10/22. again. scopes tend to pass in and out of my life. The burris ff2 2-7x35 is finding a new home and I want a smaller scope. I appreciate any advice, even if I consider and ultimately reject it.
I'm looking at 3 scopes. 1 cheapie and 2 expensive ones. I really shouldn't be spending much money on a plinking scope, but if I am going to hate myself for going cheap then well, what's another 80 bucks in the long run. I'm pretty familiar with the diamonback, but I don't know much about the banner or the legend.
bushnell banner 1.5-4.5x32 ($70) http://www.midwayusa.com/product/748138/bushnell-banner-rifle-scope-15-45x-32mm-wide-angle-multi-x-reticle-matte
vortex diamonback 1.75-5x32 ($140)http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2420815709/vortex-diamondback-rifle-scope-175-5x-32mm-matte
bushnell legend ultra hd 1.75-5x32 ($165)http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1325693415/bushnell-legend-ultra-hd-rifle-scope-175-5x-32mm-matte
I have enough other stuff in my cart to take off 30 bucks on the vortex and 45 on the legend, making the cost between those 2 a wash, and both of them being 2x the cost of the banner. Keeping in mind that pennies are tight, what would ya'll buy. is a legend/diamondback 2x the scope?
I was out yesterday looking through a ff2 and a tasco world class in the afternoon and the late evening, and in the afternoon, in my backyard, I couldn't tell much difference between the 2. Just before dark I certainly could.
PS: if you are going to suggest a different scope, that's fine, but it must be less then $200, shorter than 11 inches, and not be illuminated or have target turrets etc. Also not a weaver v3. I want a max power of 4x or greater. I am open to used, but you must be able to point to one, not just say "if you come across a X for cheap..."
