this 19-4 nickel(with wide hammer, trigger was given to me by a gal in my office, was her ex's(a real dirtball) and she just wanted it GONE(that was after she blew a hole thru the wall of her house)

So, this means you cannot 'curve' a bullet like in that movie. Aw shucks!

I got this one in 1977 and it has done well by me. BTW, the book is autographed by the author, too, and the cover is Middleton, Wisconsin PD.

As far as I know, mine has a "standard" hammer. The trigger is groved also, which I was told years ago was for single action target shooting, so your finger didn't slip. True or not, I have no idea. My old 19, had both the wide hammer and trigger.

While the grooved trigger may be good for single action target shooting I can't say much for it for double action. When I had my old one, I was shooting IPSC with a small club. I about wore my trigger finger raw on that thing. I had a Taurus 66 (IIRC) with a wide, smooth trigger that was a joy to shoot in fast D/A. Later S&W's went to a smooth trigger I was told.
