S&W Model 19-4 question

I ran across a beautiful model 19-4, 4 inch barrel, nickel finish at the local gun/pawn shop and have a question if any one could help me out. It is a 19-4 model, but it not pinned, although it is recessed. I have a couple of blued model 19-4's and both are P&R. Any ideas on this strange specimen? Thanks!

Probably just a transition between the last of the P&R 19-4 to the 19-5.

They did stranger things sometimes.

rc is right, it's a transition model from 1982ish

I have a M66 that is not pinned but is recessed. I was told it is a 'transitional' model as described by rcmodel.
