Montana CCWer's Renewal Question

So, my CCW is up for renewal in May and I was wondering if the state renews the permit right away or do they have the 60 days to issue? Basically, should I go ahead and renew now so if they do take their time I won't be without my permit for a couple of months?

Call the Sheriff's Dept and see what they suggest. My permit didn't take a week from start to finish. I have never heard of a permit, much less a renewel taking 60 days in Montana.

When I first received my permit it took about 58 days.
