Geez, whaddaya expect. John Browning learned from the 1911. There were probably several things he would've done different once the job was finished. Every designer learns something from his last job. None that are honest will claim there's no room for improvement.
The BHP was his chance to do it up right...and he did...except for that magazine safety. That was a brain fart on someone's part.
