I'm really set on getting one of these now. I'm looking for a 9mm suppressor for my Glock 26 and Beretta 92. I intend to use the suppressor at the range and for home defense. I was initially going to go with a YHM Cobra, but now I'm wondering if I could spend less on some other cans. Here are my questions:
In an effort to keep price down (I'm looking at the $500ish range suppressors), I'm wondering if I could get one of the suppressors without the Nielson Devices.
AAC makes the Spider which doesn't incorporate the Nielson device and works on a Beretta 92 and Glock 19- would it work on a 26 as well? If I don't use the Nielson Device, will the slide just slam into the back of the suppressor and mar the finish on both the suppressor and the slide? I'd really not like to spend this kind of money and find out that I bought an ill-functioning piece of junk that mars the finish on my guns.
Does the little AAC Scorpion really work? I know it's a "wet" suppressor, but if it's fired dry is it worthless as a suppressor?
The YHM Wraith also lacks a Nielson device. How is it in comparison?
What is the thread situation with the suppressors without Nielson devices? Can the threads be changed easily or is that something that is unique to the changeable Nielson devices? Are there thread adapters?
