My local gun store has a whole crate full of these things, covered in cosmoline. I'd love to pick one up but knowing nothing about them , what do I look for to best ensure that I get a relatively good one out of the dozens of rifles I can pick through? Can anyone give me a few tips on what to look for?

just look for one that has a decent stock and good rifling you really cant go wrong with whatever one you pick, and if they have diff manufactures to choose from look for a tula

What do the M38's run for?

My M38 was $105 plus tax. Just slightly harder to find than the ever present M44 around here!
