Has anyone had any experience with the new Mossberg 4x4 bolt action rifle? It looked pretty cool so I was just curious to see what you guys thought of its performance.

I have a 100ATR im .270, it is basically the same gun except it has a "plainer" stock and it doesn't have a drop magazine. My .270 is very accurate, it came with a factory scope, if you have the option...skip the scope...

I've been looking for a .25-06 version of the 4x4 with the laminate stock and marinecote finish. The only ones I've seen around here are .300 Win Mag & .30-06...

I bought my son a mossberg in .270. The trigger sucks and the gun is cheap. No matter what you do to it it's still going to be a mossberg. Spend a little extra money and get a remington 700.

if you notice, several rifle makers are copying certain design aspects of the atr and the 4x4, especially in the making of the bolt, the stock, the bedding, the built in sling swivels, etc. Of course, Mossy copied it first, by buying the origional company making these rifles, Raptor Arms. Even bought their machining equipment. Then the did a few tweaks here and there, and have come up with a darn fine hunting rig. I still say their super bantam, made for kids, but comes with a full set of buttstock inserts, and a scope, for 329, is the best deal going. The inserts makes it easy adult size, and in 243, makes for a great deer rifle.

LOL :D.... That's too funny!! The rifle that I've had the most problems with is my Remigton 700BDL, the trigger on it was horrible...the safety was very bad, too. I have since swapped out the trigger with an aftermarket Rifle Basix trigger and it took care of both problems. It is a .30-06 and using factory ammo it won't shoot any better than my ATR.

I live in the real world, I understand that there are "Better" rifles out there on the market. Mossberg makes a very nice rifle that I can afford that happens to be very accurate, too.

The 4x4 has the styling that the ATR doesn't, that's one of the main reasons that I want one, that, and I don't have a .25-06 in the safe....

I read a magazine review about the gun. Somehow they are never served bag guns because it did like 1" at 100 yards.

They probably won't break and they will probably shoot in the direction your pointing it at.
