Mossberg 590 and Me

Hello, I recently purchased a Mossberg 590 (Blued 9 shot w/ Heat-shield). I wanted it for home defense / shtf purposes. With a shortage of Bad guys and zombies, I find myself reduced to vaporizing the previous night's beer cans

Needless to say, beer cans at 10 yards is not very sporting. I was wondering what I can do for constructive practice. Are there any instructional DVDs or classes I should take? Do you think I could do skeet/trap with a cylinder bore shotgun?

I just need some Ideas. This thing is fun, but it needs a second job! Thanks

Skeet with a cylinder bore? Certainly. Cylinder is a fine choke for skeet.

Trap? Not so much.

Hand-thrown clays are a blast with my 9-shot 590. Justin's right about a 3-gun match or tactical shotgun match also. Tons of fun.

I second the hand thrown clays. My brother and I go out together, throwing clays for each other and we have a blast with our 18.5" guns. I don't know that they are the best guns for that purpose but it gets us out there and I like to think we are improving our skills while having a little fun.
