My dad has a beretta a300 outlander. His broke within 200 rounds- can't recall the part name, it was a rod that snapped. Anyway, he sent it back to beretta and they repaired it and works fine. I always liked shooting it mainly because it fit me well. When back for repair, he had them switch the safety for a lefty. Think he did it so I wouldn't want to borrow it.

Do they make it with a 14 inch barrel and a pistol/raptor grip???

.

Gang I've been shooting mine this week. I am of average build, and found it manageable and very fun.

Even full power buck (didn't try 3" mags... those might hurt some) was doable when aiming down the sights. Keep a firm grip and don't lock your elbows, let it rock up in recoil and it does just fine.

Field loads are fun and easy to control. I'm getting pretty good at aiming the thing now. Made a ripe mess of the creek bed. Fun thing for sure, with a mighty muzzle flash with high brass around dusk.

Anyone on the fence... go for it. Very fun guns to fool with!! :)

Been busy since this first came up.
Yesterday I finally sent a certified letter to the head of the Utah state Bureau Of Criminal Identification (the regulatory agency here for most firearms matters).

Previously that agency had refused in emails, in conjunction with the Attorney General's Office, to make a determination on legality for possession, or to give clear direction to FFLs for listing the Mossberg on associated paperwork.

My letter is a formal request, as a member of the press, for such a determination & such direction.

I also cc'd it & sent copies to the governor, the president of the Utah senate, the speaker of the house, both of my district state legislators, a reporter at one of the state's largest newspapers, and an investigative reporter at one of the largest TV stations in the state.

I'm hoping for a useful response from somebody among 'em, but not expecting too much.
My state's government does not appear very eager to address these issues.

That's the way I understand it as well. Saw this the other day on Facebook.

**ATTENTION TEXAS**
Bill HB1819, passed by House and Senate and signed into law by Gov. Abbott on Friday, May 26, includes an amendment which states that if a firearm is not subject to registration per the NFA, it is not restricted in the state of Texas.
This clears a path for the Suarez International STAKEOUT to be sold in the great state of Texas, effective September 1, 2017!
The Stakeout is a tuned and customized version of the Remington Tac-14 making is smoother, slicker, easier to use and hit with. The Stakeout is the ultimate expression of the 14" barreled 12 weapon.

I prefer the tang safety of the Mossberg to the behind the trigger pushbutton of the Remington. YMMV.

Its nice we can get them in Texas, but we'll have to wait until Sept 1.

After sending multiple letters to state officials, got a response today from the Utah Department Of Public Safety.
They don't say the Mossberg's legal to possess, but they do say it's not illegal to possess in this state. :)

So- got that resolved, finally.

You know, it's hard to downsize when there are so many cool new "tools" to explore ...

Think I'll wait a bit. Not legal here until Sept 1, and by then, maybe there will be a few on the second-hand market. I expect there will be some early adopters who determine they don't like them once they've given them a workout. One can hope ...

Picked up my Mosberg 590 Shockwave, and thinking of mounting a laser on top of the receiver , this gun will make a great go to gun for certain uses around the house and the car/truck..haven't had time to give it a workout yet, but I'm sure it will perform well...
