What's the most accurate .45 caliber handgun you've shot that isn't a 1911 variant?

Any you own that you could shoot all day (ammo budget allowing :D ) and still be hitting the bull's eye at the end of it?

Contemplating getting a CZ-97, never hurts to see what else is out there though!

I recommend asking/PMing "schmecky" , here on the forum.
He's a 45 gunsmith AND shoots and works CZ's as well.
There is a pictrure of one of his custom 45s here on the forum somewhere.

Hk usp .45.

If I'm having a bad day with it, I can assure you its me. Luckily, I haven't had a bad day yet (even the first box).

The HK USP 45 is very accurate, but only with some trigger work (I have a USP). The CZ-97 is in the same boat as the USP, i.e. needs trigger work. I have several 97's and stock, they can do around 2.0-1.5" at 25 yards from a rest with good ammo. However, the 97 has bullseye potential; this is my accurized 97 from 25 yards. My best ever group is 5 rounds in 9/16" @ 25 yards, which could equate to <1.5" at 50.

SIG P220 and the HK 45 I rented was also very accurate.

I have seen factory test targets from SIG P220s posted on another forum where the target was a single small ragged hole at 25yards.

SIG triggers are good to go right out of the box which is one reason, of many, they are my pistol brand of choice.

Im going to cheat a little here and say my S&W 625.

But for a semi auto, I have been impressed by the 3rd gen S&Ws. Not as accurate os some 1911s that ive shot, but I havnt fired to many 45acps other than the 3rd gen and S&Ws.

My P90 is more accurate than I can demonstrate. Those groups were shot off sandbags with aging eyes. Don't own a machine rest. The trigger is fantastic in DA and SA and the transition is natural, what I REALLY like about the gun. I don't think they're available anymore except used, though.

I have had a lot of .45s. Other than the 1911, which is the most accurate, the XD45 Tactical and CZ 97BD have been the most accurate .45s that I have shot. The CZ 97BD, might be slightly more accurate, but the XD45 Tactical has been my most dependable gun, short of a revolver.

By far the most accurate .45 I've shot is this HK USP Elite. Hand fitted barrel to slide, target sights and a nice trigger. This is the best 5 shot group in probably 10 years... the reason I took a picture. This is a very accurate and well made gun.

Ruger P-90 .45

5 shot groups from sandbags at 25 yards always under 2 inches, with a lot of loads approaching one hole, usually handloads with 200 grain lead SWCs or Hornady XTPs. Once upon a time at a public shooting range in Houston I took 20 bucks from a guy shooting a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup.

Just my .02,

.45

I only have one .45 that is not a 1911, so my answer is...Glock 36.
I have never benched it so I know only that it shoots where it is pointed and I can hold a B16 target bull at 25 yards if I am careful.
