I've read some good stuff here, so I'm going to get a little more focused. I have a new M1A Loaded, and I plan to buy a bolt gun, both chambered in .308/7.62.
For faincy shootin' I found www.ammotogo.com sells Federal Gold Medal Match in 200 round lots for $195, however,
When I go to gun-deals.com, ammoseek.com, and www.ammoengine.com, I find the cheapest of ammo is the milsurp. I see milsurp types such as Prvi Partisan, Silver Bear, Brown Bear, Tula, Wolf, Sellier & Bellot, German DAG, German MEN, the list goes on, there are many choices. I understand some are corrosive, and most are berdan primed.
Does anyone have experience with many in this arena? Myyy buddy told me.. famous last words.. that some of that milsurp shoots 5-6 MOA. I'm interested in buying a large quantity but not if that's the case. Can anyone confirm any of them are to be trusted with sub 2 MOA or better? (say under 2 inches at 100 yards, and not bad at 3 or 400 yards).
Thank you. I want to get some inexpensive bulk which is at least worth dirtying up the guns.
