Most annoying aspect of New Jersey's (or your state's) gun laws

NC is annoying about prohibited places.

Places that charge admission, places that serve alcohol, places that have a sign of any kind no matter how small or vague, public assemblies, funerals, banks (until december!), parks...its rather annoying.

Came to post this as well as the CCW process in general. I don't want to spend $90 on a class and $90 on a permit, just to hide what I can already open carry. It's BS.

The gun laws here are great. The knife laws and baton laws... not so great. I can legally and without permit conceal a magnum handgun but can't carry brass knuckles or a switchblade. And I can't conceal a baton. These are archaic relics of the days when the local gangs were from the set of "West Side Story".

Well at least you're not in Hawaii.
They don't issue carry permits / licenses at all. Concealed carry is a no-go, period!
You can't fire a .50 cal rifle there at all. Gun ranges have ridiclous rules and guidelines.
Hawaii makes NJ look conservative. You can only open carry a handgun at a gun range or while hunting from what I've read.

Welcome to California. While not as bad (but close) to N.J., we have our own set of issues, such as magazine capacity, black rifles, etc. Every year it gets a bit worse. Sure hope I live long enough to retire, and get the heck outta here!

I must admit South Carolina is an extremely gun friendly state. Only law that bothers me is no guns are allowed in an establishment that sells alcohol for consumption on the premise. So any time I want to take my family out to eat, I have to disarm myself.

This right here. I have less than no desire to drink while carrying, but it seems like every Mom and Pop sandwich shop in town sells beer for on-premises consumption. You go out for a business lunch, and your customer is driving. Now what? Tell them "No, we can't go there because I'm wearing a pistol" ? I'm sure as heck not gonna leave it in their car, so I find myself sitting uncomfortably in some nice restaurant that just happens to serve wine. What a total crock.......

There was an effort to change it to no booze for the carrier and no booze at their table and you were good. I don't think it ever went anywhere.
