Went to the range today. Put about 250 rounds of assorted ammo through my 640. I ran out of ammo just as my hand was starting to sting. I know some people may go through a couple hundred rounds at a time but I seldom shoot more than 100 rounds per gun when I'm at the range. Just wondering : What is the most rounds you've ever fired out of a single gun at a single range session?:)

.38 Special...

400 rounds - then I was told to stop and save some for others. DA shooting w/speedloaders is FUN. You can get the gun pretty hot at which point it's gets "touchy" to reload. Ouch! But darn, it's FUN.

Thinking back - to old ''compo'' days .. let's see ..... morning was practice with whatever i'd brought ... so probably 100 rounds or more (usually more!) then .. if afternoon compo's included what we called ''Police 1500'' then - shoot that twice - that was another 300 rounds. Add to that a coupla service pistol disciplines and we'd have another 48 rounds . so, on a ''busy'' day ... approx 500!

Then spend all of the following week reloading .... again!

I rarely shoot less then 1000 rounds per session.

I work internationally and tend to be gone for weeks/months at a time so when I can squeeze in time on the range I shoot a lot. I will probably go out sunday morning for a few hours and I am planning on 500 357mag rounds and probably 350 357sig and 250 40 s&w's.

I freely admit that this is bad form and not conducive to good shooting skills, but it is the best I can do at this stage in my career.

I'm pretty sure I've done 400 rounds of 9mm in a single session--seems like it was through a Beretta 92. Shooting was easy, loading gets tiring.

Most I've ever done with anything that had a bite to it was 200 rounds of .44 mag in one session. Through a 10" Ruger SRH. It split the skin at the base of my thumb. Looked bad, didn't really hurt much--it kind of itched more than it hurt. Healed quickly.

recently attended a shooting class and put 50 roounds of .40 through my beretta 96.

back in the days of PPC we would shoot double matches...300 rounds each for a total of 600, but they were just wad cutters. oops i forgot the "leg matches too, 158gr ball loads,...same matches, so add another 600 rounds

700+ rounds in my LW Commander to get it ready for IPSC. Went through every round I had. Hardball, my handloads and the 200 rounds that the experts say you have to shoot to test your CCW gun for reliability. The gun passed and hasn't jammed since. That was in 1998.

4K rounds of 5.56MM belted, 2K rounds of 7.62MM belted, a dozen or so 40MM practice grenades, and two Dragon II missiles... all on the same day.

400 rounds? That's like a slow, not gotten to work, just had coffee morning. I don't think I've ever shot less than that except for trap shooting. I usually do between 400 and 600. I think I topped 800 one day when I was first shooting.

~ 3500 45ACP in two 1911 style guns.
One was new, so testing various carry loads, and the like ( 2k w/o a hitch). The remainder was my CCW again no hitches. Private range, buckets of ammo and ~40 mags... some were new mags, I needed to check out...I could have used more assitance loading mags...helpers had to leave...one of those long summer Mondays...with a tarp full of brass when done...

Never shot more than 1000 rounds at one sitting with a wheelgun.
I'd guess maybe 700-800 in an extended morning to afternoon session.
9mm in an semi-auto?
Shot up several thousand in one day.
One of the first things that I did when I got a new dillon 550 was to find a good load, then crank off a whole ammo can full of ammo.
Maybe 3000+ rounds of 124 grain rainiers at 1100 or so, through a pair of CZ75s, a smith 5904, a sigpro 2340 (With bar-sto conversion barrel), and a sig 228, all in the same day.
All at 7 yards at a local range.
Reliability testing can be such a pain can't it?
Load up all the mags I had, then shoot 'em up, change mags as fast as possible, repeat until empty, switch gun, repeat.
There was a matrix style patch of brass littering the area.
I swept it up, and spent most of the evening after the range closed picking up my brass after hours.
People at the range just couldn't figure me out. :D
That's okay, they'll get it (Eventually.).
I routinely shoot up 500+ rounds in a single session, but I usually like to break up my sessions into a morning session, and an afternoon session.
I wind up shooting better if I take a break after the flinch monster rears his ugly head.

I usually round out a shooting session with a brick (500rds) of .22 in addition to however many centerfire rounds i went through (200-300ish)

Not a wheelgun, but my son and I ran 1000 rds thru my P-11 one day just to see if we could do it. Wasn't too bad that day, but the hand cramps set in bad the next morning.

It is not too uncommon for me to shoot a brick through one of my K-22 Masterpieces in a single session. I average one hundred rounds through a centerfire revolver in a shooting session.

I shot a little over 1k of .22LR one day (two 550rd boxes) with my nephew this past summer. He and I setup a shooting gallery of assorted reactive targets on a hill and had a ball just plinking at stuff with my Marlin 39A and Model 60.

I also took two buddies, my CZ-75, my Garand, and a couple of SKS to the range once. We spent most of the day there and shot about 700 rounds combined of 9mm, 7.62x39 and 30.06.

However, I probably average around 100 rounds of rifle and maybe 200 rounds of pistol by myself. Once I get all the way up the mountain to the range, I stay there for 3 to 5 hours and try to go two or three times a month. I usually either bring two pistols and a long gun or two long guns and a pistol, occasionally two of each.

The most I've gone was around 1k rnds of .22. A normal range sesion for me right now is around 150 of 9mm and 200 of .22. Looks like I need to catch up with some of you guys! :D

...bought 5000 rounds of .22LR (1 case, 10 bricks) for our youngest sons 12th birthday....he and his friends shot up the whole thing in one day using two Ruger 10/22's, speed loaders, and 25rd magazines.....after that we used bolt actions to slow the consumption. :)

Back when Pointe Mouilee was still open:

250 rounds .45 ACP
50 rounds .44 Mag
40 rounds .30-30
100 rounds .308
500 rounds .22
940 rounds total.

Too much cleaning..........toned it down after that.

When I first got into shooting 45 acp, I was going through upwards to 1000 rounds every time out...)I was getting a HUGE break on the price ;)

My personal best is 625 .22LR, 440 7.62x54R, and 320 7.62x39, for a grand total of 1385 rounds. Never before, and never since, have I gone above 800 rounds (the high end of my norm limit). Needless to say, the morning after that trip to the range, my right shoulder was stiff as a stone :uhoh:  ;)
