Movers afraid of gun safe

I ended up getting the two young men who came to deliver our new fridge to move the safe for a couple hundred bucks, which they did without anyone getting hurt.

Next I need an estimate from the floor restoration people so I can go to a lawyer and ask whether s/he thinks the movers' "contract" will hold up or not.

But now we're getting way off topic.

And they should tell you if they don't.

Back when I was in the Navy, I remember setting up a move on the phone and the move asked what kind of TV we had. Seems there was one type they wouldn't move at the time because their trucks weren't equipped with the suspension system appropriate for it. It could be damaged in transit, so they wouldn't move those.

Given this was probably on the 90s, it was probably projection TVs he was talking about, but my memory isn't clear on it.

If they can't move something, they should tell you. If they can move something, they should have the people and equipment required to safely do so.

What i found astounding is the shear number of safes being sold! Some new homes (if you can find any) are often coming standard with a gun safe or "hardened" room. May be you won't have to move a safe at all.

Man I'm afraid of having to move mine lol.. 1500+ lbs Fort Knox IIRC .. If I ever move homes, I just might sell it with the house lol. Plus it gives me an excuse with the wife to buy a bigger one
