moving a Safe alone?

Just the regular .177 Daisy BBs. I bought the big carton at Walmart, however many that holds.
Or get a bucket of balls from a driving range. That'll roll 'em even on carpet. Open the safe door part way and you can usually tip the safe enough to start the balls doing their thing underneath.

That said, having a bunch of herniated discs myself, I whole heartedly not recommend moving a safe by yourself and hiring pros for the job. Really. The damage can be permanent.
It's just not worth it.

It took me a couple of weeks to figure out how to move the 850# safe from the garage where they left it to the alcove I had prepared for it. The first problem was getting it off the pallet and shipping legs. That was accomplished by and walking it slowly unto a 4 wheeled dolly. I positioned the dolly so I could unbolt the legs. Then I had to roll it to the six inch raised threshold that led from the garage into the house. I had to remove the thin metal threshold and position it to go through the door way. I had laid piece of plywood over the kitchen tile and hardwood floors. To get it through the door way I had to jack the front up another couple of inches and used one of of a half dozen motorcycle fork tubes I had on hand. With the tub in place I was able to move it into the house and place it on two tubes and put more in front. It was easy to maneuver by angling the tubes as I pushed.

Once I positioned it in front of the alcove I had to figure out how to push it in with out using the tubes since I wouldn't be able to get them out. I cut a piece of plywood the size of the alcove to protect the hardwood floor. I then used some pieces of 4 X 4 and a scissor jack. I put the jack and one 4 X 4 against the opposite wall and a 4 X 4 on the jack. I then jacked it into the alcove, off the pipes and onto the plywood.

If I ever leave this house the safe stays.
