Hk91-762mm:
Ok, first off do not fear Louisville, there are plenty of pro-gun folk living in and around Jefferson County. As someone pointed out there are a few really liberal areas, but I still walk around the highlands, mostly because some of the best upscale restaurants are on Bardstown road. There are also a lot of relatively good bar-b-que places as well. Also try out Skyline Chilly its either a place you will love or hate. I love it.
Some one mentioned Knob Creek Gun Range, but some how forgot to mention the Machine Gun Shoot. In fact the next one is the first weekend in April I believe, you should definatley check it out. Most of the major players in firearms come down.
Also you are going to have to pick your favorite college sports team. Your choices are University of Louisville or those other guys (University of Kentucky, which is in Lexington). But this is important, you must choose.
We have car taxes, but the only tax for guns would be the sales tax when you buy it.
When ever you get in town you should let me know. Would love to help move, show you around, etc.
Elizabethtown is a good area that is outside of Jefferson County. You can find cheap acreage out there. If you were to want to live in Jefferson County I would suggest either J-Town or Middletown personally but im from this area so....
I would agree that Lexington would be more liberal the Louisville. Of course people from Lex would probably say the same about me.
Also to all:
As sarge83 pointed out:
If its not clear in the above quote you can in KY, have in your glove box a loaded firearm, and the glove box doesn't have to be locked. Without a permit.
I almost forgot, there is no wait in the city of Louisville when purchasing a handgun anymore.
