As an example, I have the following .45acp handguns:
- Series 70 Colt
- Springfield blued GI M1911
- S&W Model 25-2
- Citadel 3.5CS 3 1/2" M1911
- Colt New Service
They all have specific purposes, which they fulfill well.
1 is my bullseye wadcutter gun. It's got a slide mounted 1" UltraDot.
2. is my bullseye ball gun. It's got Bomar front and rear iron sights.
3.is my primary bullseye revolver.
4 is my primary concealed carry gun.
5 is a collector's piece. It was a gift from my late aunt's boyfriend who took it off of a Mexican criminal when he was a Chicago cop in the '60s.
I wouldn't carry the wadcutter gun for self-defense, nor would I try to shoot a 2700 with the Citadel.
Every once in a while, my mother will ask me why I have so many guns. I just ask her how many pairs of shoes she has and whether she wears house slippers to go out to dinner. Why does she have so much stuff in her kitchen drawer? Wouldn't a spork be enough?
