Hi Everyone,
I did a search but didn't find much regarding Murom Primers.
I found a source for these primers on AmmoSeek, but have never heard of them. All I have found is that they are made by Tula or the Russian company that makes Tula ammo.

Does anyone have experience with these?
I am mostly just curious. Not a fan of Russian ammo...or anything else, for that matter.

Yes. They are pretty good primers, especially for reloading....not so much on new brass. And there are some limitations. they have really hard cups, and they are a tiny tiny bit bigger, so a bit hard to seat in new brass. In once fired brass, they've given me some of the best SD numbers I've ever gotten. Pistol: You can use the standard primers interchangeably between magnum and standard. The non-toxic variety does not have much oomph, and will be inconsistent with anything other than really fast powders, like TiteGroup. Rifle: Small Rifle is perfect for AR rounds, really nice.....and Large Rifle is great for that .308 brass that's been around the block a few times and the primer pocket is a bit stretched.

As far as the cups go......don't use these for striker pistols (XDs, Glocks), they can be inconsistent. Also, DAO light weight revolvers can also have a hard time punching them. On the rifle side, they will not work with rifles that have notorious light strike issues, like CZ 527 and such.

Thanks very much. I was thinking of getting some for 9mm and .38 Spl reloads. Perhaps I will just wait for some quality American primers to become available somewhere. I am not desperate...yet ;)

Their LR primers are my goto's for 7.65Arg, .303Brit, 7.62Russ and .30-06 NOT for the Garand. I suppose they're fine for the Garand but as @EricBu says the primer cups are thick and the brass they're made from has a higher tin content, so they tend to be "hard". Eastern European standards for "brass" are a little different than US standards. The Ruskies had all kinds of problems during the Cold War when they stole some of our Skunkworks aircraft designs because their formulas for a lot of steels and copper alloys are different. Their brass is more brittle and their bronze doesn't have the same lubricity. :) But their titanium-aluminum alloy was pretty good compared to our T10.

Yeah, I am going to go with my initial thoughts and just skip them.
Besides, I have a healthy Cold War bias and don't trust anything Russian...including the salad dressing. :D

Thank you all for your input.
Sure, but Beluga caviar is just as good as Kozy Kitten as far as cat foods go. ;)
