DARN all you bad...err, good ;)...influences...

...must...buy...new...gun...soon!! But what to buy?

Purpose = cause big grins on owner's mug. I already have my comp/race and hd guns.

So this is for something "new" and "different" and has great "cool factor"...mostly for enjoyment and friendly competition with the gang at the range.

I figure I'm having a mini-mid-life crisis and need some jazz or "bling" or whatever the h3ll the kids call it these days. This is a long overdue personal treat so I'm gonna splurge.

Love .45, 9mm, and .40's...don't have .357Sig (can't seem to get the fever...when I go to the range, I like to shoot 350-400 rounds, minimum, with each of the guns I bring...so bringing a gun just to shoot 2 mags before my hand gets tired is not my first idea of fun). Don't have a ccw yet.

Current semi-auto family members: Sig P220ST Sig CS tuned, Sig P226ST 9mm Langdon Tuned, Sig/Hammerli Trailside, Kimber Team Match II .45, Kimber Custom II .45, Kimber Stainless II .45, CZ 75BD, CZ P-01, IMI/MRI Baby Eagle std 9mm, Baby Eagle std .45, FN HP 9mm, H&K USP 45, Springfield Armory XD9101HC 9mm, and sold away all my Glocks. You'll notice that there's nothing really super special or stand-out in that group...they are all just really strong and stable workhorses and tend to out-perform pistols costing 3x-4x as much. I love it when a "sleeper" storms the house, like in drag racing. But time for something new.

Even thinking of STI GrandMaster, CZ Champion, and EAA Elite race guns...if I can figure out how to get them into The People's Demokratic Republik of California.

Thanks for your votes!!

The Smith and Wesson Performance Center 945-1 is approved in CA. It has been discontinued but there are still some in the pipe lines. This is one of the nicest autoloaders in 45 ACP money can buy. It will soon be gone.

If you are willing to spend the money..... you should buy one. Custom 1911s or the other guns you mention are generally not as nice as the 945 and they will be around for years.....

Oh yeah..... The excellent HK P7M8 is also being discontinued. They are CA approved and may be the best 9mm ever.

Might as well buy something wonderful that will not be possible later.

How about somthing completely different with a HUGE wow factor.

9mm Luger. :what:

okay okay......how about a Colt Python :D

How about a SIG P-210? Never had that kind of money myself, but it is certainly neat, and different.

I vote for the H&K P-7. Everyone seems to rave about it but I can't see spending that kind of cash for a gun that I don't really need for anything. My Kahr K-9 is my CCW auto when I am not carrying my S&W 642. It would be just for fun so I would like to at least shoot a H&K P-7 someday. I picked one up at a gunshow and it didn't do much for me.

It's not on your list but how about one on Novak's Custom Hi-Powers?

Choosing strictly from your list, I went Colt 1911...really any will do, depending on your wants & needs as the owner. Me, I got a XSE last year that has been awesome! ;)
Now if I chose one not on your list, I'd go w/ the P7M8 whiel they're still available!

I voted for the Sig 220 Sport only because it's also on my list of future wants. But, I have to second the S&W 500 for the WOW factor. That thing is number one or two on my purchase list. :D

I voted other.

You already have Sigs and 1911s, why not get something different? My vote: P7M8.

The P7 definitely has the cool factor and is extremely fun to shoot. :D

I voted other. Since you already have HD, comp guns etc.

I recently purchased a Springfield XD-9 subcompact and I can just not say enough about this gun. It gobbles up EVERYTHING. I have put about 600 rounds through it so far of various types, cheap, old, new, expensive, foreign and domestic and have not had a single malfunction.
