I had a friend give me a set of USGI NM parts for a 1911 Pistol. He included a deluxe Essex frame. The rest of the parts are : NM slide, Kart NM barrel and fitted bushing, set of USGI NM grips and all the internal parts. I sent the parts to Jim Collins in Birmingham, AL for assembly and fitting. Along with the parts I sent an extended full length sight rib by BoMar and a medium length NM trigger with adjustable trigger stop.
The result is a great bullseye pistol. I had a pistol similar to this one in the late 70's. The accuracy level is quite high and it functions flawlessly.
Unfortunately, Jim Collins has passed away. He was a great shooting champion and gunsmith.
The used BoMar was $150.00 and Jim's fee was $250.00 for the upper action job. &400.00 for a ribbed .45 1911 is a great bargain.
