I own two 44 Specials. Both were new when I bought them. Both are carried in my rotation for ccw. I have a Rossi 720 manf 1993 and a Taurus 431 manf 1994. The Rossi is the fixed sighted 3in hammerless model (covert) I changed the hammerless to a hammer. My 431 is blued 3in model, I changed the wood grips to the now discontinued rubber Uncle Mikes.
My Rossi has such an awesome trigger and hammer. Super smooth. The Taurus is a real joy also. I took them out and shot them today. I have to say, my caliber of choice for ccw is one I totally feel comfortable with. I load my own for targets. And stoke them with Blazer God Dots for ccw. I cannot ask for better. Super reliable, very accurate to 20 yards. Easy to carry and conceal. For what I use them for I know they are keepers. Sure I have autos I carry, and other handguns. But I have to say............. the 44 Special is just that. SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fellow 44ers care to chime in?
