What do you think?

I have never seen a scope mount on the right side of the rifle. Too confused about how that works out to know what to think. I like my kobra :)

Out of curiosity...

How is the scope mount attached? That's got to be the lowest optics mount I've seen for an AK (behind the rear sight that is). I don't see how it would be possible to take the dustcover off with the mount attached and I was wondering if it's removable.

On the whole, a very utilitarian, "less is more" look. I like it.

It is a U shape that fits down over the receiver. It is held in place via pins that replace the hammer and trigger axis pins. There are thumbscrews that screw into these pins that hold the mount on.

Hello,
could you post some more pictures of this mount , from the rear as i would like to see how far it sticks out ,
Thanks TS2

Same here. Does it make the safety harder to operate? My Vector doesn't allow the standard left side mount so that would give me another option besides the Ultimak (which I really like and will probably end up with although I'd have to give up my wood).

You guys must have lots of money.

$50 gets you in the game. $225 extra gets you the name.

I'm not exactly awash with money, so you've got my interest here! Do you own one? I'd love to hear more about it... though it would probably deserve its own thread.

I like the peep sight portion of the Krebs design, but really I'm only looking for a nice way to mount a Tru-Glo red-dot onto my AK that doesn't have a side-mount plate. This just might work and I won't feel guilty over $50!

I had that particular mount once and I found it very problematic.

You can't clean the rifle unless you remove it. If you grab the bolt handle a little too close to the receiver and quickly charge the rifle, you'll cut your index finger.

Now, here's the real bad part. The mount replaces the two lower pins with bolts. If you tighten those bolts too tight it'll pinch the receiver and you'll get jams. If you don't locktite the four screws that attach the mount to those bolts they'll come loose in a very short period of time. If you do locktite them you'll have to remove them every time you clean.

The rest of the rifle and the Aimpoint looks fantastic however. It looks like a very nice build. Nice rifle and an even nicer sight.

Now if you just ditch that B-Square mount and get a BP-02 or an Ultimak you'll be all set.

my ak has no left side attachment for a bp-02. this b-square mount makes no permanent modifications to the receiver which is why i chose it. it is problematic as some have stated, but i can live with it for now.

I had a MAK90 with no siderail and that's how I ended up with the B-Square mount myself. As I look at the picture of your rifle, it looks like they modified the mount somewhat. The slot around the bolt handle is about twice as large as it was on mine.

So why not buy the mounting brackets for a side-mount?
Because they'd probably rather spend the $$ on the B-Square than on the gunsmith to install the rail or the time it'd take them to install it for themselves.

i would be interested in getting a side bracket. Can they be installed without rivets? i'd like to see some good links about this if anyone can find some.

Updated B-Square mount pictures

A few people were asking for more pictures of the actual mount, so here you go.
