Looks good. Tactical or whatever, but no frills. Lean n mean more or less. How do you like the MI side mount rail? I have the handguards and I am pretty satisfied but I haven't chosen a sight yet.

My rig isn't much different but I never got around to changing out the standard laminate buttstock. It's a bit short for me but I can ring steel at 50-200 yards and so what's the point in spending all that money on a nice ACE skeleton stock that I've always wanted? I have an AFG on the front rather than a vertical grip. Always wanted one but didn't have the right rifle for it.

I like your rifle.

I did something similar to a Norinco. The thumbhole stock broke and I figured "what the hell", and went "all in" on tapco gear, mojo ghost ring sights, a tricked out 6-way-adjustable trigger group, folding stock, the works.

It didn't make it shoot any better.

So I bought reloading dies, and brass cases, and .311 bullets, and made (what was assuredly some very accurate) ammunition.

It still didn't shoot better.

So I loaded up some 75 round drums, and one fourth of July, I shot it until the foregrips were all soft and melty. It may shoot 12" groups (or should I say 'patterns'?) at 100 yards but at least it goes bang every time.

Think I'll put some of that plywood back on it. At least that way I can use the thing as an effective spear or club or something. :)

[Sarcasm]
And that's why Eugene Stoner died a very rich man in Florida and Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov is living in a crappy flat in Moscow with an even crappier pension and bitching about how the world is making money off his design but he ain't seeing a penny of it and the ChiComs are laughing all the way to the bank.

He helped design a good rifle. Hugo Schmeisser had a hand in the desigb after WWII. But it took American capitalists to truly see it for what it is and bring it to the 21st Century.

Comrade Kalashnikov can yell, point, cry, and cuss. But he ain't telling me how to have my AK. No sir! This is America and I'll take my AK the way I want it.

I like my rifle modern but not "tacticool". Pretty much brought it up to par to a late 1990s design of rifles.
