My C&R FFL came in. What do you consider to be a C&R eligable handgun must have?

As I checked my mail yesterday I was happy to find my C&R FFL license had arrived. Took less the 4 weeks to get. Nice.

Anyway, if there's anything my collection is in dire needs of it's some C&R hanguns. I have none so far. A good amount of C&R rifles, but no handguns.

With that said, what do you consider a C&R handgun must have? Also, any advise on what dealers I should send my C&R to would be a great help as well.

CZ-52, great gun for the money!

Nagant revolver is a great piece of history and real neat in it's design.

Also, those both are readily available and a real bargain now.

I've gotten 1911s and Hi-Powers off of my C&R, but they tend to run pricey compared to most mil-surps.

The Tokarev is another. I'm sure there are plenty of S&W revolvers that fall under the >50 years stipulation, but you rarely see them advertized as such. I'm looking for a .45acp 1917 though. An M&P and some Webleys would be cool as well.

I second the Sistema ... its one of the reasons I got MY C&R (although I've haven't bought one yet ... right after I get my C&R the supplies seemed to dry up ).


Of course Lugers are a nice choice as well.

Once you have a good condition Luger, all others pale in comparison. Expensive. Shooter grade, $600; good condition, $600-1K, very good condition, $1k up. Excellent humm; all these prices depend on such things as year mfg, mfg name (as there are several), condition, markings, all sn's match including magazine. Sn's all over the place, including the firing pin. Different years of mfg some models are plentiful, others not so. Rare up to and over $15k. Check gunsamerica.com

I'm a novice Luger collector. I'm sure others on this forum are expert on the subject and will correct me. Oh, there are over 100 models of the Luger. Once you have one, your most likely hooked. Try lugerforum.com.

You must get a Nagant revolver, they're very unique and still very cheap.

A CZ52 and 50. Also a Russian and East German Makarov. A Star model A or B in 9 largo. A Sistema or P38 would also be nice to have.

Ask S.O.G. for their flyer and you will find a lot of pistols listed there. However, that doesn't mean they have it in stock. AIM, J&G Sales, Century, Sarco, and Classic Arms are good places to send your FFL to. Allans Armory, Empire Arms, and Makarov.com have excellent reputations.

First thing to do is fire off copies to Midway and Brownells! I only have a couple of guns in my bound book but have saved a bunch of money over the last couple of years!.
