Very sorry about the loss of your dad, he was a true hero.

Just a thought, have you asked any of your dads closest friends and shooting partners if he had shared the recipie with them? Worth a try....

Edit to add: or might his local gunshop know the recipie? I'm sure he must have talked with his LGS about loads he worked on.
